MY TEACHING STYLE
TEXTBOOK
My courses are based on the content of the textbook "Minna-no-nihongo", the most popular Japanese learning material for foreigners in Japan.
In addition to the textbook, I will also supplement the learning experience by providing handouts to students.
HOMEWORK
Homework greatly assists progress so I assign homework every lesson.
However, if you are too busy to complete it, that is fine.
I provide feedback on the homework of every student.
LEVELS
The level of each class is based on the level of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). N5 is the lowest level; while N1 is the highest level.
My courses are designed to let you apply what you have learnt in real world situations, it's not examination based. However, you can decide whether you want to participate in the JLPT examinations or not when you have achieved a certain level.
TEACHING PLANS
My lessons are never rushed. It is important to ensure students understand every thing before moving on.
Therefore, my teaching schedule depends on the performance and needs of my students, there is no set number of hours required to finish a certain level.
My lessons cover listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. You will have a lot of opportunities to practice Japanese during the lesson!
POLITE JAPANESE FOR BEGINNERS
My courses will be more textbook-based than casual speech, as we assume that the students do not yet have close relationships with any Japanese people. Therefore, we need to use a polite tone when communicating, which means relying more on textbook-style Japanese.
